Official launch of Leneda, Luxembourg’s new energy data platform

Luxembourg, March 20, 2025 – After several years of development, Creos Luxembourg, as Transmission System Operator (TSO), is bringing to fruition Leneda, a project initiated back in 2021 with the support of numerous energy market players. This ambitious project, which aims to facilitate the management of and access to electricity and gas data, today marks a major milestone in the digitalization of the energy market, with the official launch of this national reference platform in the presence of Lex Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism.

Advanced features and future developments

Leneda offers innovative services to improve the transparency and management of energy data:

• Full access to energy data: visualization and monitoring of energy consumption and production close to real time.
• Secure environment: compliance with data protection standards with secure authentication via LuxTrust or IDNow.
• Simplified data sharing: users can share their data with trusted third-party service providers.
• Simplified identification of network users: each user will receive a unique identifier, called an Energy ID, enabling faster processing of all energy-related procedures.
• A more efficient energy sector: from spring 2025, all new energy processes, such as the creation of supply or connection contracts, will be progressively integrated into Leneda, guaranteeing smoother, more transparent management.

Lex Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, emphasizes:

Leneda is part of a national drive to modernize access to and management of energy data. Framed by the amended law of 1 August 2007 on the organization of the electricity market, the platform is part of a drive to digitalize the sector and make it more efficient, offering users a reliable and secure source of information with a strong emphasis on data protection. Its deployment marks a major step towards a more transparent and accessible energy market.

Leneda will evolve over the coming years to become the central element of the electricity market, enabling more efficient and secure communication between the various market players, and thus facilitating the development of innovative offers on the market. In addition, the platform is designed to integrate future water and heat data.
